The raku tables I make are labor intensive. It takes at least a month to complete one table depending on the size. Each tile is it’s own composition and is placed in a relationship with others until I am pleased with the complete feel of the piece. Sometimes I purposely break some of the tiles and then grout them onto the cement board, adding elements of mosaic art. The tile board then must be mounted onto a table base. Each base can be custom designed and welded.

Looks like alot of work, but all art is!

I heard of Raku tile in a workshop in Hue, Vietnam. And, I learnt to make it from them. It is a lot of hard work and attention to details though. Keep it up if it’s your passion.
